Ann Wilson, the lead singer of rock band Heart, disclosed that she has cancer and the band is delaying the remaining shows on its Royal Flush Tour while she receives treatment.
In a statement posted on Instagram, Wilson revealed that she had surgery to remove a cancerous growth and is now advised by her doctors to undergo preventive chemotherapy and take a break from performing to fully recover. This decision led to the postponement of the rest of the North American tour to 2025.
Wilson expressed her regret to ticket buyers about the postponed gigs and assured them that she intends to return to the stage in 2025. All previously purchased tickets for the delayed shows will be valid for the rescheduled dates, which will be announced in the coming weeks.
The band’s lead singer emphasized that this break is temporary and she looks forward to singing more in the future. Over 50 shows across the U.S. and Canada, including performances with Def Leppard and Journey, are affected by the postponement. It is yet to be confirmed if these bands will join Heart at the rescheduled concerts.
Earlier in May, Heart canceled its European tour due to Wilson’s need for a time-sensitive medical procedure. Wilson reassured fans on Instagram at that time, stating that she was okay despite the inconvenience caused by the cancellation.
The Wilson sisters, known for hits like “Magic Man” and “Crazy on You,” founded Heart in 1973. The band received a lifetime achievement award from the Recording Academy in 2023.
